The School Food Collective was born from a simple belief — that every child deserves honest, well-made food at school. Not corporate, not processed, not minimum standard.
We are a growing network of independent school caterers across Japan and Asia who share that belief. Our members hold themselves to a common set of standards and work together to improve — sharing what they know, who they work with, and what works.
We were inspired by the UK's Food for Life programme. When we tried to join, we were told it was UK schools only. So we built our own.
What We Stand For
Every member meets a common set of standards covering food quality, safety, staff development and sustainability.
We work with trusted suppliers across the region to offer members access to quality ingredients at reduced rates.
Independent caterers are stronger together. We share what we know — openly, generously and without agenda.
Every decision we make comes back to one question — is this better for the students we feed every day?
